Next up from the Nokia press event is a new online environment called Ovi. This is a new move for Nokia, and it's part of their new online strategy, based around the idea of freeing the Internet. Ovi will integrate what Nokia describes as online experiences, including maps (through their Nokia Maps service),  gaming (through their N-Gage service) and others.

Ovi is a Finnish word that means "the door", and it will be launched in what Nokia describes as "selected geographies" in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Part of this is the relaunch of N-Gage: the new service will offer downloadable games that include free trials , and which cost about 10 euros (approx $13).

Music will also be included: Nokia are announcing a new online music service called the Nokia Music Store. The new service will not be purely for over the air use: it will be independent of the way the music is delivered. It will automatically download music to both a cell phone and a PC.
