Keyboard/Keypad
The N86's keypad has rather small chiclet-shaped buttons. They weren't appealing at first glance, but they provide good tactile feedback and we like that there is some space between each key to allow them to be identified by feel alone.

Controls
In addition to the Send and End keys, most of the other control keys are long, thin ovals, and we'd prefer keys with more surface area in these as well. They all do offer good tactile feedback and travel, so we can't complain about these areas.

Display
The N86 has an Active Matrix OLED screen whose brightness is controlled by an ambient light sensor. OLED screens tend to offer more vibrant colors, more brightness, and a wide viewing angle compared to their standard LED-backlit counterparts. They also consume less energy since a backlight is not required. In our limited time with the pre-production unit, the screen did look very bright and clear.
Ports & Storage
The N86 has 8GB of internal storage and also has a microSD card slot that can accept cards up to 16GB in size. Its charge and syncing port has a Micro USB connector, and it has a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting any standard set of headphones.
