Tethered Modem (6.5)
The Nokia N81 can be used as a tethered modem for your computer via USB or Bluetooth. You will need to get the appropriate dial out settings for your carrier, but those are easy to find online and it's simple enough to set up the phone to be used as a modem once you have that information.

GPS (0.0)
Unlike the N95 the Nokia N81 does not support GPS functionality.

PTT (0.0)
The Nokia N81 supports certain push to talk protocols but they won't work with any U.S. carriers, as such we won't be awarding any points for them.

Radio (5.0)
Like many S60 devices the Nokia N81 has a built in FM radio. The radio can only be used with the included headset attached as that is used as the antenna. We found the quality of the radio to be similar to other S60 phones we've reviewed like the N95, which means it's decent but not great. Even in a metro area you're going to get some static, and you won't get a signal if you're in the middle of a large building. Still, it's nice functionality to have.
