Nokia N78 Cell Phone Review - Conclusion

Conclusion
The Nokia N78 is the successor to Nokia's wildly successful N73. A smart phone with a good 3.2 megapixel camera, powerful software and capable music features it's likely to be successful itself, at least overseas. In the United States the N78 will be hobbled by its price. At $520 unlocked there's no way we can recommend the device over an equally capable carrier subsidized device like the AT&T Tilt or even the iPhone 3G. In fact we wonder why anyone would spend $520 for the N78 when it's more powerful big brother the Nokia N82 is available for slightly less. Overseas where Nokia has secured carrier agreements we're sure the Nokia N78 will go like hotcakes for free with a contract. Here in the United States there are better ways to spend your money, whatever the N78's pluses. When the price comes down a few hundred it may be a more compelling buy.

Who's It For

Business User
The Nokia N78's lack of a QWERTY keyboard and an email interface that's not up to the standards of BlackBerry or Windows Mobile devices mean business users can probably find a better device elsewhere.

Budget Callers
Um, No.

Chatty Teenager
If you can convince Mom and/or Dad to pay out for one more power to you, although we'd sugges you can find better ways to spend $500 on your teenager.

Media Maven
Although it's a very capable media device, we'd say go with the Nokia N82 which has a better camera and more processing power for about the same price.
