Nokia today announced that they will be shipping the 6120 classic. The 6120 classic is a mid-range Series 60 smart phone that features a 2 megapixel camera and support for high speed data via HSDPA. As a Series 60 smart phone the 6120 also includes support for synchronization with your computer, multimedia features and the ability to install third party programs that run natively on the device.

The 6120 is the first mid range handset from Nokia to feature support for the HSDPA high speed 3G data standard. Support for HSDPA was first made available on the Nokia N95 the flagship of Nokia's consumer line up that was released earlier this year. HSDPA allows for maximum download speeds up to 3 Mbps, although in practice speeds range between 700 - 1000 kbps depending on your network support. With the announcement of the 6120 Nokia is signaling that support for this high speed data technology will begin to be rolled out to the entire lineup of Nokia S60 phones.

The Nokia 6120 classic is expected to ship in the 2nd quarter of 2007.
