Nokia 6500 Slide approved by FCC

The Nokia 6500 slide was just approved by the FCC. This slider Series 40 phone packs some nice specs with a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, VGA video capture, 2.2 inch QVGA Display and, probably of most interest, support for 850 mHz 3G. This means that it will theoretically support AT&T's 3G network in the US, which runs on both the 850 and 1900 mHz bands. This is one of several Nokia handsets that has been released recently with support for 850 mHz and 2100 mHz 3G. Nokia has released a lot of flack for not including US 3G in their handsets, and it seems that this is at least a partial attempt to address it. To tell you the truth we don't know how a phone with 850 mHz but no 1900 mHz support will do on AT&T's network. For the full specs check out Nokia's product page here.
