New cell phone models by Sony Ericsson and Nokia, T-Mobile expands its 3G network, and more...

If you're looking forward to some new phone models by the major manufacturers, you'll be happy to hear Sony Ericsson has released an ultra-slim candy bar phone and a new Nokia phone is being tested by the FCC.  And if you're with T-Mobile and will be heading to Las Vegas soon or live there, there's some good news for you regarding their network...


Sony Ericsson
has announced a new cell phone called the T700.  It's ultra-slim at just 10mm thick yet still packs in quad-band 3G, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a Memory Stick Micro slot, and more.

Continuing to implement its plans to roll out 3G services across the United States, T-Mobile has launched its 3G network in Las Vegas.  Now you can stay connected faster in Sin City if you're a T-Mobile subscriber.

The Nokia N85 is undergoing testing at the FCC, as revealed by submitted documents.  The specs are still confidential, but it sounds like it will be 3G capable (on the networks of both AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.) as well as having an FM transmitter.  It may have the 2-way sliding form factor similar to that of the N95.

Sprint lost over 900,000 subscribers last quarter alone, but still reported earnings per share above expectations due to other adjustments.  Losing subscribers in such large numbers is never good...
