New Sprint Handsets, iPhone Gets an Update, Google Tests out Youtube Ads and Much More

Apple releases update for the iPhone, Sprint announces the Katana and VE20 handsets, Google tests out Youtube ads and Visa offers new mobile service. Here is today’s mobile round up.

Apple has released a new firmware update for the Apple iPhone 3G.  Version 2.0.2 promises to fix all the bugs plaguing the iPhone. Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your PC and then click on to check for updates in iTunes.




Google has begun testing mobile Youtube advertising in the Unites States and Japan. Google wants to find out how the viewer responds to these advertisements and to achieve this have displayed ads on select pages.

Visa and a couple of American banks like PNC Bank, SunTrust Bank, U.S. Bank, Wachovia have launched  transaction notification a pilot program which will alert VIS customers in real time of transaction activity on their Visa account.


The Sanyo Katana Eclipse has been officially announced by the Sprint Network. The handset includes; live and on-demand TV, over-the-air song downloads integrated GPS navigation and support for the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. No word on pricing or availability.

 
Another handset to make its debut soon on the Sprint Network is MOTORAZR VE20. The VE20 can access Sprint-exclusive content like the newly announced NFL Mobile Live which features live audio broadcast of all NFL regular season games.
