27th Dec 07 – Palm Centro owners with Macs can rejoyce; the producers of the Missing Sync for Palm OS Mac synching software have just released a new version that includes support for Palm's latest smart phone. Version 6.0.2 of the Missing Sync is available for download now, and adds support for the Centro, as well as improving video support for other Palm-based devices.Palm includes MacOS software with their Palm OS devices (such as the recently released Centro) but this only supports basic functions. The Missing Sync for Palm OS software supports a much wider range of functions, and this new versions includes support for synching video; videos captured on the Centro can be copied to the Mac, and videos on the Mac can be converted and copied to the Centro. The new version of the software also now supports call log and SMS message synching; the call logs and list of messages on the phone can be synched to the Mac and searched, providing an easy way to back up important messages.
Synchronization of notes has also been improved; the software includes a new notes application called Mark/Space Notepad that replaces the built in notebpad application on the phone, and which can be synched with documents on the Mac or with a .Mac account. The Missing Synch for Palm OS software also now runs under Leopard, the latest version of MacOS X. Missing Synch for Palm OS costs $39.99, or a free upgrade is available for those who bought the previous version after the 1st of March 2007.
