The LG enV2 is a CDMA handset, which means it's not the best choice for world travellers when you consider that most international networks run on the GSM standard. If you're staying in the good 'ol USA, however, Verizon hs a solid network, including widespread EVDO for fast data. |
The LG enV2 is a dual-band (800/1900) CDMA handset that will only function on Verizon's network. This means that if you want to use your phone overseas, where GSM networks are the norm, the enV2 is probably not a good choice for you.
Data Support Score (6.0)
The enV2 supports Verizon's EVDO high speed data network with average speeds between 500 - 700 kbps and max speeds up to 1Mbps. It does not support Verizon's newer EVDO Rev A network, which provides faster download speeds. Verizon's EVDO network is widespread and you should get fast data speeds in most major cities. When EVDO is not available the enV2 falls back on the slower 1XRTT network, with maximum speeds up to 100 kbps.
Bluetooth (8.5)
The LG enV2 supports Bluetooth 1.2. We found it reasonably easy to pair a headset with it. The enV2 supports ten different Bluetooth profiles including Headset, Hands Free, Dial Up Networking, A2DP and AVRCP for Stereo Bluetooth headphones, Phonebook Access, Basic Printing Profile, Basic Imaging Profile, Object Push, File Transfer and Human Interface. This is a good selection of profiles and should cover most users' needs.
