LG Voyager Cell Phone Review - Other Features

Tethered Modem (7.0)
The LG Voyager can be used as a dial up modem for your computer via either USB or Bluetooth. With Bluetooth you won't get the full benefit of EVDO speeds because of the latency of the Bluetooth connection, but it is a little more convenient than having to yank our the USB cable. Either way setup is straightforward, simply connect your device and set up the appropriate dial out connection on your computer targeting the Voyager as your modem.

GPS (4.0)
The Voyager supports GPS-like capabilities using tower triangulation via the Verizon Navigator service. This service locates you based on your relative location to three or more cell towers, so it works best in areas where there are several cell towers to lock onto. It provides you with turn by turn directions and is similar to many of the mapping applications we've seen on other phones. It isn't true GPS, so you can't find your location if you don't have a cell signal. As such it receives a reduced number of points compared to phones like the Helio Ocean that have a real GPS chip on board.

V Cast Mobile TV (4.0)
The LG Voyager supports Verizon's new V Cast mobile TV service, which uses Mediaflo technology. This means that instead of streaming the TV over the EVDO network like Sprint or AT&T Verizon actually uses a broadcast tower that the phone picks up. This makes for better quality and lower buffering. Unfortunately this service is only available in select markets, of which ours is not one, so we were unable to properly review this. We will award four points however for having the technology.
