Call Time (5.46)
To test call time on the LG Voyager we make a phone call to the handset using Skype and pipe an audio book over the connection to simulate conversation. We them time how long it takes for the battery to run out. The LG Voyager lasted 4 hours 33 minutes in our test, which is about average. You can see below that the Voyager fits right about in the middle of our comparison phones, although it should be noted that phones with really good battery life like the iPhone and E90 put up times more than twice that of the Voyager. The Voyager should provide sufficient talk time for most users, but those who spend hours on the phone every day may find their battery only lasts them a day.
| Cell Phone | Talk Time | Score |
| LG Voyager | 4 hours 33 mins | 5.46 |
| HTC Touch on Sprint | 3 hours 11 mins | 3.82 |
| Pantech Duo | 4 hours 20 mins | 5.20 |
| Nokia E90 | 7 hours 47 mins | 9.34 |
| Helio Ocean | 8 hours 9 mins | 4.94 |
| Apple iPhone | 10 hours 46 mins | 8.48 |
Music Playback (6.96)
To test battery life while playing back music we set an album to play repeatedly and set the phone volume to maximum using the loud speakers. We then time how long the phone lasts before its battery dies. The LG Voyager lasted 9 hours 40 minutes in our music playback test, which is a pretty good score. You can see below that we have seen better from phones like the iPhone and E90, but in this case the difference is not as huge as talk time. This means that you should be able to use the Voyager as a music player for several hours a day without fearing that the battery will conk out on you.
| Cell Phone | Music Playback Time | Score |
| LG Voyager | 9 hours 40 mins | 6.96 |
| HTC Touch on Sprint | 4 hours 45 mins | 3.42 |
| Pantech Duo | 4 hours 53 mins | 3.52 |
| Nokia E90 | 9 hours 57 mins | 7.16 |
| Helio Ocean | 8 hours 9 mins | 5.87 |
| Apple iPhone | 10 hours 46 mins | 7.75 |
Web Browsing (5.22)
To test how long you can browse the web on the LG Voyager we point the phone's browser to a page that's set to refresh every ten seconds. We then make sure the screen stays on and time how long it takes for the phone's battery to run out. The LG Voyager lasted 4 hours 21 minutes in our web browsing test, which isn't a particularly impressive time but isn't terrible either. You can see below that it sat right around the middle of our comparison phones with only the Nokia E90 and it's huge battery putting up a score that stands out as significantly better. It should be noted though that the Voyager uses Verizon's high speed EVDO network, which is more battery intensive than the slower EDGE network that we tested the E90 on.
| Cell Phone | Browsing Time | Score |
| LG Voyager | 4 hours 21 mins | 5.22 |
| HTC Touch on Sprint | 3 hours 17 mins | 3.94 |
| Pantech Duo | 3 hours 14 mins | 3.88 |
| Nokia E90 | 10 hours 34 mins | 12.68 |
| Helio Ocean | 4 hours 19 mins | 5.18 |
| Apple iPhone | 5 hours 13 mins | 6.26 |
Idle Time unscored
In order to ensure that we deliver reviews in a timely fashion we don't test idle time for cell phones. LG's stated stand bye time for the Voyager is 480 hours.
