LG Dare Cell Phone Review - Connectivity

EVDO Rev A is on board for fast data and the Bluetooth support is good. We wish there was Wi-Fi too, however.

Cellular Bands (4.0)
The LG Dare is a dual band (800/1900) CDMA device that is locked to Verizon's network in the U.S. CDMA is not as widely used internationally as GSM, so the Dare probalby isn't a good phone for world travellers. Verizon does have a decent network in the U.S. however. Our score for cellular bands is based on the total number of bands supported.

Data Support Score (7.0)
The LG Dare supports Verizon's EVDO Rev A network, with average download speeds of around 600 kbps up to 1.4 mbps, and upload speeds between 500 and 800 kbps. EVDO Rev A is faster, especially on the upload, than the standard EVDO network that older Verizon handsets run on. You will fall back on standard EVDO if Rev A is not available in your area and where no EVDO is available you'll fall back on 1XRTT, with maximum download speeds around 100 kbps.

Bluetooth (10.0)
The LG Dare supports Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate, which means fast transfers and support for simultaneous connections. It supports the following profiles: Headset, Hands Free, Dial Up Networking, A2DP, AVRCP, Phonebook Access, Basic Printing, Object Push, File Transfer, Basic Imaging and Human Interface Device. This is a good selection of profiles for a phone, we're happy to see that Verizon isn't crippling Bluetooth on their devices any more. We were easily able to get the Dare to pair with a Bluetooth headset.

Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Dare does not support Wi-Fi so you'll be dependant on Verizon's data network for internet access.

Infrared (0.0)
The LG Dare does not support Infrared.
