As is typical for the mobile phone industry these days, new phones are always on the horizon! LG has officially announced a high-end smartphone, Motorola may be skipping the Q9 designation and going right to the Q11 for the next generation of this high-end smartphone, and those of you who use iTunes but don't have an iPhone now have a way to sync your iTunes library with your mobile phone.  Read on for more...

LG has announced a successor to the Viewty, dubbed the KC910, as their next flagship phone.  The GSM 3G-enabled KC910 includes an 8-megapixel (!!) camera, 3.0-inch touch screen, wi-fi, aGPS, and will be fabulously thin at 13.95 mm thick. LG has not yet released the full specs, but should do so shortly.  The KC910 will go on sale in October.

The successor to Motorola's Q9 smartphone may have been leaked on the Bluetooth SIG's website. The smartphone is listed as the Q11 running Windows Mobile 6.1 software. There are no other details available at the moment, and it looks like the listing has been pulled from the Bluetooth SIG site, so we'll just have to wait to learn more about this one.

Users of mobile phones not made by Apple who use iTunes to manage their music have something to be happy about today. Salling Software has released their Media Sync application that will allow you to sync your Nokia, HTC, Sony, or Sony Ericsson phone (see here for a full list of compatible phones) with your iTunes library.  Unsurprisingly, you can't sync DRM-protected music with the application, but everything else is up for grabs.  For Mac or PC, there is a free basic version, and a version that offers faster syncing costs $22.

Rumors of a major firmware update for the Nokia N95 are floating around the internet.  One of the changes that might be included is an application to work with Nokia's new "Comes With Music" service. It doesn't seem like the firmware update is live and available yet, but Nokia N95 users should keep their eyes peeled for this one.

Ever wanted to use your cell phone for more than just calls and keeping track of your personal information?  How about using it to unlock your front door? Computerworld talks about a new Schlage door lock that can be accessed securely through the internet or by cell phone.  One of the neater functions is the ability to get text or email alerts whenever the lock is opened.
