Today Helio announced that it's new high end multimedia phone the Helio Ocean is available for sale. The Ocean will be available for $295 at Helio Stores or by phone at 888-88-HELIO. The Helio Ocean has a dual slider design with a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G data via EVDO and integrated GPS capabilities. The Helio Ocean will compete with high end smart phones such as the recently released Treo 755p.Although the Helio Ocean does not run a standardized operating system like Palm OS or Windows Mobile, it does share many advanced features with such smart phones. The Helio Ocean has extensive messaging capabilities including email, text and instant messaging. It also integrates its GPS capabilities with the instant messaging client allowing other users to see where you are.
The Helio Ocean also includes Google technologies such as search and Google Maps. Google has made an extensive push to develop software for the mobile space. It also sports multimedia capabilities such as a 2 megapixel camera, music and video capabilities. The Helio Ocean will be available through additional retail channels beginning on May 21st.
