Helio Fin (Samsung SPH-a513) Cell Phone Review - Connectivity

Cellular Bands (4.0)
The Helio Fin is a dual band (800/1900) CDMA phone that will only work on Helio's network. The limitation of CDMA devices is that they won't work on the GSM networks used in most of the world, so the Fin isn't a good choice for world travelers. Our score for cellular bands is based on the total number of bands supported.

Data Support Score (6.0)
The Fin supports Helio's high speed EVDO network, with average speeds between 400 and 700 Kbps. When not in EVDO range you will fall back on the slower 1XRTT speeds. EVDO is plenty fast for quickly downloading a song from Helio's online music store or browsing the Web.

Bluetooth (5.0)
The Fin supports Bluetooth 2.0. It only supports a limited number of profiles, including handset, headset, and A2DP for stereo Bluetooth music. According to our scanning software, it doesn't support the related AVRCP, which allows you to control music playback via Bluetooth, however Helio informed us that it does in fact support this profile. We did not have a stereo Bluetooth headset on hand to test this, so we could not confirm it. We will attempt to do so in the near future. We did find it easy to partner with a mono headset, however.

Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Helio Fin does not support Wi-Fi.

Infrared (0.0)
The Fin does not support IRDA connectivity.
