HTC Touch Pro on U.S. Cellular, Nokia 8208 at the FCC and more

The HTC Touch Pro is now available on U.S. Cellular. The Windows Mobile smartphone can be purchased for $250 and for more information go here.



Nokia has sold its mobile TV technology unit to the Indian company Wipro. The Mobile Broadcast Solutions unit primary created software and hardware for mobile TV technology on phones. Says Nokia: "We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side,".

If the current grapevine is to be believed then Windows Mobile 6.5 may debut sooner than we expected. In most likelihood, Microsoft may release the operating system next month. Keep watching this space for updates.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has officially adopted the Bluetooth 3.0+High Speed specification, which is not only considerably faster but also, has power control features to lower battery drain. The latest iteration of Bluetooth technology has a data rate of 24 Mbps and a range of about 10 meters or 30 feet.



A new Nokia CDMA dual-slider phone has been spotted in the FCC archives. The mysterious phone looks to be the Nokia 8208 that supports CDMA EVDO Rev. A and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and features a 3MP camera. The Nokia 8208 won’t be compatible with US networks.
