Cellular Bands (4.0)
The HTC Touch is a dual-band (800/1900) CDMA device. This means it will only work on CDMA networks, which aren't really prevalent outside of North America. This means the Touch isn't for world travellers that needs a phone that will work anywhere. Data Support Score (6.0)
The HTC Touch supports EVDO for fast data transfers. EVDO gives you speeds between 400 and 700 Kbps. EVDO is fairly widespread, but in areas where you don't have access to it the Touch will fall back on the older 1XRTT technology with speeds around 100 Kbps. At this time we don't know if the HTC Touch is upgradeable to the faster EVDO Rev A.
Bluetooth (7.5)
The HTC Touch has strong Bluetooth support, sporting version 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate for high speed transfers. The Touch supports a decent selection of Bluetooth profiles, including network access point, AVRCP, A2DP, Voice Gateway, Sync, and OBEX Object Push. We were easily able to get the HTC Touch paired with a Bluetooth headset.
Wi-Fi (0.0)
The HTC Touch does not support Wi-Fi, unlike its GSM cousin. This isn't too big an issue given you can get decent data speeds with EVDO, but it does mean you'll have to pay Sprint rather than use free Wi-Fi hotspots.
Infrared (0.0)
The HTC Touch does not support Infrared for short range data transfers. This isn't a huge problem; with most modern laptops sporting USB and Bluetooth connections, the HTC Touch is well enough equipped for connectivity.
