HTC S740 photographed, Blackberry Bold may hit AT&T soon, Android news, and more...

If you're looking for some actual pics of HTC's recently-announced S740 in the wild, we've got a link for you.  Those intrigued by the Blackberry Bold in the U.S. may not have too much longer to wait, and things are chugging right along for Google's Android operating system, and there's more in our round-up of mobile phone news for you today.

The latest smartphone announced by HTC, the S740, has been handled and photographed at IFA by the folks over at CoolSmartphone, and it's looking pretty slick - check out the pics here.

Are you waiting for the Blackberry Bold in the U.S.?  If so, AT&T may be selling it starting October 2, according to the latest rumors. To recap, the Bold is a quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard, wi-fi, 2.0 megapixel camera, GPS, bluetooth, and enhanced media capabilities and on-board storage.

Speaking of Android, Google has announced some details about the app store, called Android Market, that will be the portal through which users can buy apps. In comparison to Apple's App Store, the Android Market will be less restrictive, not requiring Google to review every app before it's made available and not restricting the Market as the only means to distribute 3rd party apps.

With high-speed 3G network capability, it's a shame you can't tether your laptop to your iPhone 3G, isn't it? Well, the latest rumor seems to indicate Steve Jobs agrees and that AT&T is working on making tethering with the iPhone 3G a reality. This is a rumor we'll be keeping our eyes on!
