Conclusion
Frankly, the Magic was a thoroughly pleasant surprise compared to our experience with the T-Mobile G1. We like the tweaks to Android that enable video capture and playback, as well as providing an on-screen keyboard. It still doesn't match the capabilities of the industry-shaking iPhone 3G, but the potential is there if the Android Market continues to grow. We'd stipulate that the Magic's reliance on Google's web apps will need to step aside to allow desktop syncing as well. As previously mentioned, the Magic will be a Vodafone exclusive in Europe, but we expect that a US carrier is likely to pick it up soon, and we look forward to testing out this new device when we can.
