The HTC Advantage uses Windows Media Player mobile for music playback. This software can be accessed via the Start or Programs menu. Except for the volume slide switch there are no other controls on the HTC Advantage that allow you to control music playback.
Windows Media Player Mobile on the Advantage allows you to sort through your music by title, artist, genre and album. You can also search your device and update the library automatically. There is no ability to search for songs individually.
The HTC Advantage also uses Windows Media Player Mobile to play back video. This can be accessed via the Start menu or the Programs menu. When playing back video in Windows Media Player Mobile you can control volume using the dedicated volume keys. We were unable to test any other controls, however if the Advantage is similar to other Windows Mobile devices you will be able to use the joystick to skip between tracks, control volume and play/pause. Windows Media Player Mobile on the HTC Advantage offers a good range of features, including full screen video on the Advantage's large 5" screen. You can automatically search through your device to add videos and rate your videos.
We were unable to test the HTC advantage with any online video download services.
