The HTC Advantage is a Quad-Band GSM device, supporting the GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bands. This means the device will work on any GSM network worldwide. It also continues HTC's tradition of building devices that support Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA. This means the device will work on global 3G networks and also work on Cingular's U.S. 3G network. This is good news for those of us in the U.S. and globe trotters.
A Bluetooth 2.0 radio is also included. We were not able to get a complete list of supported profiles or information about whether the device will support EDR for fast data transfer over Bluetooth.
The HTC Advantage supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b and g networks, but it does not support infrared. This is not surprising as HTC has stated that they will begin phasing this technology out of their handsets.
