Ericsson Achieves 42Mbps, BlackBerry Storm Firmware Leaked and More

Ericsson in conjunction with Telstra was able to achieve wireless download speeds of 42Mbps with Ericsson's High-Speed Packet Access technology. Ericsson's HSPA multi-carrier technology will be ready for commercial implementation by the end of 2009.
The Mozilla Fennec browser is now available for Windows Mobile devices. The pre-alpha release for now will only support HTC TouchPRO and can be downloaded from free.
Nokia will cut down phone production as the demand for handsets has been significantly dropped. It will also temporarily lay off the whole staff of 2,500 on a rotational basis.
"With these plans, we aim to scale down Salo production to reflect reduced market demand, while operations in the factory continue uninterrupted," Juha Putkiranta, a senior official at Nokia, said in a statement.

BlackBerry Storm users can hit the update button once again. OS 4.7.0.106 has been leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9500, and OS 4.7.0.103 for the 9530. However bear in mind, these are not the official release and hence download at your own peril.
