Dataviz today announced that they have added support for Office 2007 documents to their Documents To Go software. Documents To Go enables users on various smart phone platforms to view and edit Word and Excel files. Previous versions of Documents To Go did not support the new XML format used by Word and Excel 2007. As the market for smart mobile devices expands rapidly so do opportunities for developers of software that runs on mobile platform. Much of the growth in smart devices has come in the enterprise market where the need to view and edit office documents can be important.

With the latest update to Microsoft's Office software a new format was introduced for Word and Excel files. These XML files cannot be opened by those using certain other office suites. Documents To Go is available on Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Symbian UIQ, Symbian Series 80 and will be coming to the Blackberry platform soon. The software package costs $29.99 and a free demonstration version of the software is available from the Dataviz website.
