Digital Life at CES 2008

We dropped by Digital Life at CES 2008 and got to take a few shots of some goodies, including the new Samsung Serenata, HTC SMT5800 and Sony Ericsson's newly announced lineup. Photos after the jump.

The Serenata is probably one of the strangest looking phones we've ever seen, and it's no less strange in real life than in the press shots. Those of you who can't deal with the strange will be happy to know that it won't be available in the U.S.

Also from Samsung the G800 is not exactly new but we thought the five megapixel shooter was worth a shot. Like the Serenata we won't be getting any photos with it in the U.S.

Sony-Ericssons's new phones include a couple of low end models. The Z555 sports a standard flip design but with an embedded OLED on the exterior and "Gesture Control", which basically means you can mute an incoming call with a shake of the handset.

The W350 is another entry level Sony-Ericsson whose most interesting feature is the matchstick flip design. We think it'll appeal to the small and cute crowd, but we're not sure going with the old Star-Tac design is you best bet. One note of interest is that in our news piece earlier today we made an error in indicating that the Z555 and W350 will not be available in the U.S. Although they are both tri-band we were informed that there will be U.S. tri-band versions of the handsets available.

The W760 is a much more interesting Walkman branded handset. This one packs a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, Sony Ericsson's Shake Control when you want to wiggle it about and support for both AT&T and global HSDPA networks.

Next up is a must for anyone who loves Beyonce, and really who doesn't. Basically they just took the Upstage and slapped on some sweet (or not) branding.

Last is the Nokia N82, the upgrade to the N73 with a five megapixel auto-focus camera and GPS functionality.

Well, that's it for now. You can be sure we'll be getting our eager mitts on some of these handsets for some in-depth action over the next few days so check back soon.
