WhereToFindPariking.com logoIf you live in Manhattan you know how tough it can be to find parking when you need it. Since December WhereToFindParking.com has allowed New Yorkers to locate areas where the parking rules are their favor. Now the service is poised to launch in Boston and in other cities, said founder Erik Feder in a phone interview with Wirelessinfo.com.

Feder said the process of uploading data for Boston’s streets into the site was underway and said the Beantown service would be launchedErik Feder soon. Next on the drawing board are Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, he said.

Plug in your location and WhereToFindParking.com shows where curbside parking rules are good and provides links with phone numbers to parking garages in the area. When used with a mobile device you can reformat the site for the smaller displays. On a PC browser the results show up with smiley faces where parking is good but these graphics are turned off when used with a cell phone.

“On the mobile [platform] it’s just too small to make all that stuff work,” said Feder, author of a number of parking guides. WhereToFindParking.com also offers e-book versions of Feder’s books that downloaded to and read on mobile devices.

Pricing for a single user ranges from $6.95 for one day of PC access to $39.95 for a year’s worth of PC and mobile access, including one 15-minute chat with Feder himself.
