BusinessWeek: 3 Million iPhones available for launch

We all think the iPhone will hit the ground running, and the inevitable supply shortages will follow, but according to BusinessWeek, Apple will be well prepared for launch, with an astounding three million phones available from day one.  Apple won't officially comment on the BusinessWeek story, nor give any sort of launch number (surprise!) but if they realize the hype and have what they feel is a solid device free of major defect, three million devices could pacify some of the demand.  Maybe Apple has really figured out the proper way to manufacture, and we'll avoid the shortage situation that has plauged some consumer electronics companies, like the Nintendo Wii for example, for months.
