Tethered Modem (6.0)
The Storm can act as a tethered modem connected by USB cable and wirelessly via Bluetooth. To tether via USB, you must have the Blackberry Desktop Manager software installed on the computer you wish to tether with, which means that Mac users are again out of luck here since this software works on PCs only. Detailed instructions to set up USB tethering is not provided in the Storm's user's guide, but it can be found on the Blackberry support web site. Following the instructions is not difficult, but it can be a lengthy process.

Tethering via Bluetooth takes fewer steps and does not require the Blackberry Desktop Manager software, so Mac users are back in business. We found tethering to be a snap via Bluetooth with the Storm. For either tethering option, be aware thatVerizon requires a tethering plan to use this feature with the Storm.

GPS (6.5)
The Storm has a built-in GPS receiver and comes with Verizon's Navigator software that provides turn-by-turn directions and directory information. Using this Navigator software is not free, however, as Verizon charges $9.99 per month to use it. However, you can still use the GPS receiver with the included Google Maps application. This won't give you audible turn-by-turn directions, but it works well enough to find an address and give you directions in text format and silent guidance on the map. It's nice to see both options on the Storm, but it would be even better if both were free.

PTT (0.0)
The Storm does not have push-to-talk capability.
