Cellular Bands (8.0)
The Curve is a quad-band GSM phone- it supports 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 1900 MHz. This means it supports both EDGE and GPRS networks, but isn't capable of handling UMTS or HSDPA. If you want 3G speeds, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Data Support Score (3.0)
As mentioned above, the Curve supports EDGE and GPRS networks on all four GSM bands. The BlackBerry 8800 supports GPRS and EDGE data on all four of its GSM bands. EDGE can rev up to around 230 kbps on a good day, depending on your local network. We would have liked to see 3G support, as other smart phones have made the leap to 3G networks. A user might feel this pinch while browsing the Web, but for e-mail EDGE is fine.
Bluetooth (6.0)
The Curve supports Bluetooth 2.0, and supports hands-free, headsets (A2DP), and serial port profiles. Connecting the Curve with Bluetooth is as easy as stopping by the Bluetooth menu under settings and enabling it.
Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Curve doesn't have Wi-Fi support, which is unfortunate. BlackBerry users will find themselves still unable to use VOIP.
Infrared (0.0)
The Curve doesn't support Infrared, which isn't surprising as this technology is dated. Support would have been appreciated, since it is quite likely a business device would have to interact with older hardware.
