Cellular Bands (8.0)
The 8820 is a quad-band GSM, which runs on the standard 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 bands. This means you can also call the 8820 a "world phone" if you'd like, which means you can bring it with you on your international vacation and have no problem using it (though the charges will be absurd).

Data Support Score (3.0)
The 8820 supports GPRS and EDGE transfers on its bands. EDGE isn't the fastest thing ever, puttering along between 150 and 250 Kbps. Considering AT&T loves its 3G network so much that they've integrated it into the startup animations of phones that have it, we were surprised to see it was left out. This was one of our biggest gripes with the 8800, and we are disappointed to see nothing has changed. For messaging, however, EDGE is more than enough to ship out your letters in a timely fashion.

Bluetooth (6.0)
The BlackBerry 8820 has Bluetooth 2.0, meaning you can have multiple connections going at once. It supports profiles for a headset, hands-free, desktop connectivity, DUN, and wireless bypass. Pairing via Bluetooth was easy; users should not have a problem with this.

Wi-Fi (5.0)
Wi-Fi capability is the main upgrade touted by the 8820. The 8820 supports two Wi-Fi networks: 802.11 b and 802.11 g. This is a great new addition for business users, as it allows them to access corporate servers, as well as boost data transfer speeds considerably.

Infrared (0.0)
The BlackBerry 8820 doesn't support Infrared, meaning it won't interact with older business hardware. Its inclusion would have been nice.
