AT&T (formerly Cingular) today made available the Nokia N75, a smart phone based on Symbian OS and built specifically for the North American market. The Nokia N75 is Nokia's first commercially available smart phone to support AT&T's 3G network. Nokia has been trying for some time to get its high-end smart phones onto US networks, but the N75 is the first one with a 3G radio to be picked up by a US carrier. The Nokia N75 runs Sybmian Series 60, a smart phone operating system that provides a wide range of functionality, including synchronization with your desktop computer and advanced web browsing features. Some of the Nokia N75's multimedia features include a 2 megapixel camera and support for Windows Media DRM music.
The Nokia N75 supports AT&T's 3G network, which runs on the 850/1900 Mhz bands. Other Nokia smart phone models only support the 2100 Mhz band, which is used internationally for 3G. Nokia first announced the Nokia N75 at an event last fall where it also introduced the Nokia N95, another high end smart phone that does not support AT&T's 3G network.
The Nokia N75 is available from AT&T's website for $199.99 with a two year contract agreement and a $50 mail in rebate.
