At MWC: Nokia E75 Debuts, GSMA Working On an Universal Charger and More

Nokia is exhibiting the E75 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The quad-band GSM device will run on the AT&T network in the US and should retail for around $475. Some of the specs include; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, aGPS and a front-facing camera for video calls.

At the MWC, Nokia announced its plans to embed Skype in Nokia devices like the Nokia N97. One will be able to view their online Skype contacts and also chat with them.
Quickoffice debuted its Microsoft Office viewer for the Android platform in Barcelona. Quickoffice for Android will let G1 users to access, view and manage their Word and Excel files. One can also save Word and Excel documents on to the device directly from Gmail to view later.
The GSM Association will soon collaborate with leading wireless providers to create a universal charger that will support any and every mobile device. At MWC the group announced its plans to use Micro-USB as the common universal charging interface.
“The mobile industry has a pivotal role to play in tackling environmental issues and this program is an important step that could lead to huge savings in resources, not to mention convenience for consumers,” Rob Conway, GSMA CEO, said in a statement.
