It looks like Apple has made available another minor update for the iPhone. 1.02 purports to fix some bugs in the phone. As with the 1.01 update you have to do a full restore if your iPhone has been hacked. Thanks to the kids over at Howard Forums for catching this one.
Here are the first few screen shots, as we sit around and wait for the software image to be downloaded in all its 91.2 MB glory. ![]() Yes, it does exist ![]() So we now have the update running on our iPhones. As we suspected, the hacks that we have applied (such as the installer.app program) meant that we had to restore the iPhone completely from scratch. What we have found so far is as follows: - The Field Test mode still works (see here for details), and the version is now reported as 03.14.08_G. They still haven't fixed the misspelling of firmware; it still says "firware". ![]() - iFuntastic still works, allowing you to get into the iPhone and update files, logos, etc. - The installer.app hack works: the only difference on the installation procedure is that you get a third option for the firmware version. ![]() - We are seeing reports of faster WiFi performance, but we haven't seen any improvements ourselves. One of our iPhones still refuses to work with one WiFi network for no obvious reason, and we don't see any significant speed difference on another network
