The iPhone 3G S supports a wide range of cell phone frequencies and networks, so it can work around the world.

Cellular Bands (8.0)
The Apple iPhone 3G S is a quad-band GSM device, which means it will work almost anywhere in the world.

Data Support Score (8.0)
As with the iPhone 3G, the 3G S supports HSPA, with the current model getting an upgrade to support faster 7.2Mbps networks, although you won't be seeing those speeds on AT&T's network any time soon. Speaking of which the Apple iPhone 3G S supports both AT&T's 3G bands and the 2100Mhz band used in most places overseas.

Bluetooth (6.0)
The Apple iPhone 3G S supports the same Bluetooth 2.0 with enhanced data rate that we've seen on previous iPhone models. New in this model, however, is support for the A2DP protocol, so you can use wireless stereo headphones, a big plus. Unfortunately that's the only Bluetooth upgrade on this device, with the vast majority of bluetooth profiles still not supported.

Wi-Fi (5.0)
The Apple iPhone 3G S supports Wi-Fi b/g.

Infrared (0.0)
There is no infrared port on the Apple iPhone 3G S.
