Today Apple took the wraps off their new iPhone with 3G support and GPS. The device will see a price drop with the 8GB version available for $199 and the 16GB version for $299. Sporting beveled edges, a plastic back, improved audio and a flush headphone jack. The signature feature, of course, is 3G support, with Steve Jobs demonstrating that page that took 59 seconds to load on the slower EDGE network took only 21 seconds via 3G. Apple also claims solid battery life, 300 hours of standbye, five hours of talk time (10 hours on EDGE), 5 to 6 hours of browsing, 7 hours of video and 24 hours of audio. We'll see how well these hold up when we get the phone into the labs.
What we didn't see that we had hoped for was an updated camera and bigger storage.
