Apple announces Mobile Me

Today at WWDC Apple announced a new web based service called Mobile Me. Replacing their older .Mac service Mobile Me will be found at Me.com and will allow you to synchronize data across multiple devices including Mac and Windows computers as well as your iPhone. Synchronization will be supported for calendar, contact, files and photos.

It will also provide push email to your iPhone. On the Mac side synchronization will be supported with the built in applications, on the Windows side it will synchronize with Outlook. This is Apple's move to bring Exchange-like functionality to consumers. They've also built web-based applications that look much like their Mac desktop applications.

Mobile Me will cost $99 per year and will replace their existing .Mac service. It will include 20 GB of online storage.
