Android 1.5 SDK Released, HTC Magic Debuts on Vodafone Spain and More

Google has made the Android 1.5 SDK available to developers who own the ADP1 (Android Developer Phone 1). The ADP1 version of the G1 is unlocked and is based on the Cupcake branch of the Android Open Source Project. You can download the update from here.

 

The Samsung i7500 is the first phone from the Korean mobile giant that is based on the Android platform. Equipped with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch screen, the i7500 supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps (900 / 1700/ 2100MHz), EDGE / GPRS (850/ 900/1800/1900). Other features include a 5 megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory.

In the race to see who would launch the HTC Magic first, Vodafone Spain has beaten Italian network TIM. The HTC Magic smartphone is now available on the network for 199 Euros. This amount is excluding the monthly data plans.

According to the rumor mill, the new Samsung Omnia Pro would be equipped with slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard which was lacking in the original Omnia. Samsung hasn’t confirmed this yet, though.

Amazon.com has acquired Lexcycle, developers of the Stanza iPhone application. For the uninitiated, Stanza allows iPhone users to download and read eBooks in multiple formats. Says Amazon: “We are not planning any changes in the Stanza application or user experience as a result of the acquisition”.
