Although other reports have come in about minor problems with activation of the iPhone, WirelessInfo.com did not encounter any problems. In general, activation was a smooth process, according to testers. Instead of activating the phone from local cell phone stores which users are accustomed to, iPhone users can activate their new prize from the privacy of their own homes through Apple’s iTunes music program.
The iPhone does require some information including social security number, billing address, and a credit card number for a $36 activation fee.
Activation takes roughly 15 minutes, according to staff.
