AT&T Upgrading to HSPA 7.2, Toshiba TG01 Shipping and More

AT&T has announced their plans to upgrade to High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2 technology. The network upgrades will begin soon and should be completed by 2011. AT&T plans to begin LTE trials in 2010, with deployment beginning in 2011.
The Toshiba TG01 smartphone is now shipping with a full suite of ArcSoft’s applications, including MMS composer, photo viewer and editor. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, the smartphone features a 4.1-inch WVGA, 800 x 480 pixel resistive touch screen, and 1 GHz GPU. It also supports 3G HSPA, WiFi, GPS and A-GPS.
The much anticipated HTC Touch Pro2 is now available online. The unlocked phone can be purchased from a number of European based online sellers like Devicewire.com. The Quad-band GPRS / EDGE / HSPA features a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera; GPS and FM radio with RDS.
Skyfire’s beta mobile browser has hit version 1.0 for Windows Mobile and S60 devices. Version 1.0 improves the overall functionality, allows access to Youtube and Hulu videos and a new search function.
Nokia has announced the open availability of its MVC source code implementing H.264/MPEG-4 MVC. The video codec provide enhanced 2D and 3D performance in mobile devices. The software is available for download at: http://research.nokia.com/research/mobile3D.
