AT&T Takes A Shine To the Shine

26th Nov 07 – AT&T is now offering the LG Shine, a stylish slider handset that has a screen behind a mirrored layer. The Shine by LG is available now for $149.99 with a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. We reviewed the unlocked version of the Shine a few months back, and weren't overly impressed; although the device looks very attractive and has some interesting features, the screen doesn't work well in bright light and the software is limited: the music player software in particular was extremely poor. However, AT&T claim that they have added their own software to the phone, which will hopefully be an improvement.
The AT&T version of the Shine is also much cheaper than the unlocked version we reviewed; AT&T are charging $149.99 for the Shine with a 2-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The unlocked version was priced at $450 at the time it was reviewed.
