17th Oct 07 – AT&T has just announced that they are now offering an upgrade to their popular BlackBerry Curve handset: the Curve 8310. The major upgrade on this new version is the addition of a GPS receiver, which allows the built-in TeleNav GPS Navigator software to offer spoken turn-by-turn directions. The new Curve costs $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract. The difference between this Curve 8310 model and the Curve 8320 model that we reviewed recently from T-Mobile is the GPS and WiFi; the 8320 does not support GPS, but it does support WiFi connections and calls made over WiFi. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera and the usual extensive BlackBerry email features. It also includes Bluetooth 2.0 and supports Bluetooth headsets and headphones.
The AT&T Curve 8320 is available now for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, when bought with a 2-year contract. It's available in two colors: titanium or red. AT&T's BlackBerry data plans start at $39.99 a month. The TeleNav GPS Navigator software costs $5.99 a month for up to 10 trips, or $9.99 a month for unlimited trips.
